STARS

‘Life’s a party, but it’s your job to hang out the bunting! So true if you ask me. And the bunting? Just hanging in my closet! I believe every day is a party and nothing more fun than getting ready to party. Most of the time I like that evermore than the party itself. Or just wear a beautiful dress on any given day, just because I can. Because, we live in a free country were woman can wear whatever they want. Even a party dress in the middle of the day, combined with a sweater and a denim jacket. I love it! | Dress RECLAIMED VINTAGE […]

BLACKSTREET

The past few weeks have been like an extensive part of summer, the perfect opportunity to wear my favorite winter pieces in a different way than I would in actual winter time. While following the latest fashion trends for the upcoming season I noticed that the seventies are still a popular eara among my favorite designers. Well, and what’s more seventies than miniskirts and overknee boots. I love them in all black, giving them some extra edge and giving them a real modern feel. I mostly wear them with some other classics, like my boyfriends v-neck sweater and my new favorite bag from Diane Von Furstenberg. This bag has the perfect size to fit all of my daily needs combined with the perfect look to brighten up my all black looks. For sure a combination that I will wear all lot this coming winter. . | Sweater ZARA Men | Skirt MANGO | Boots NELLY | Bag DVF | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR | .

FLOURISHING

With 36 weeks and counting I can now definitely say that maternity wear is not my cup of tea. I have tried and tested a couple of maternity jeans, t-shirts and tops and non of them are to my liking. I try to avoid them as much as I can, guess it’s just not for me. The only items that I have not regret buying are all dresses. Now they are comfortable without any concessions. Like this folk floral printed one from Asos Maternity. It’s my current favorite dress to wear, mainly because it’s just a “normal” dress with some extra space at the waistline, and sometimes that’s just all it takes. By the way, this dress is also available in a “normal” size  for all you non pregnant. Now that’s why I love Asos! . | Dress ASOS | Fake Fur stola H&M | Heels ZARA | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

LE PARISIEN

So last week I was back in my much beloved city; Paris. The kick start of a short holiday before our baby girl arrives, these days also know as a babymoon haha (love that term) . Off course I had planned a short shopping spree but due to our late arrival (traffic jams) and an early meeting with friends I was forced to keep it even shorter. In preparation of my new life I was looking for a new pair of sneakers, I had my eye on 2 pairs after our last visit to Paris back in June, a pair form the Nike Style Lab and a pair I saw at Kenzo. Well, you can guess which pair I got now. For the occasion I was wearing on of my favorite dresses of late, another striped number that I also found at Zara. Although again it’s not officially maternity wear it still fits me perfectly. Combined with a pair of flats and my favorite accessories it still makes me feel ladylike in a time when comfort is key. . | Dress ZARA | Flats BODEN | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

30 WEEKS

Time really does fly, and the past weeks have proven that more then ever. Can’t believe I’m already 30 weeks into my pregnancy and that the end is getting near. A part of me wants to enjoy every second of this special phase in my life and a part of me can’t wait to finally meet the little creature inside of me. Although some times she is giving me a really hard time I already love her to death. Guess that’s what’s being mother is really about. And after all these weeks I also get surprised sometimes when a garment from my “normal” wardrobe still seems to fit. This maxidress is very special to me, so special I save it for very special occasions only. The last time I wore it was to the Marie Claire Prix de la Mode awards, a evening that holds a very special place in my heart. And now I felt like the moment was special enough to wear it again. This dress has proven it special status over and over again, and even now, 30 weeks in, it doesn’t disappoint. .   | Dress PINKO | Heels ZARA | Clutch HEMA | Sunnies PRADA […]

RUE DE CAMPAGNE

Last week is was time again for a little getaway to give my body and mind some well deserved rest. So all packed we left home for a few days on the countryside of France, followed by a few days in Paris. This year the weather was very cooperative so I packed a couple of very easy to wear dresses. And what better to pack than lots of stripes. I love stripes so much that I could literaly live in them every day, and in this cute village as well. In the morning we went out for fresh croissants and a baguette, very French off course. I decided to wear all of my favorite French stuff together, so it was stripes, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and strappy sandals in the mix. I felt like a fish in the sea. | Dress TOPSHOP | Heels ZARA | Bag LOUIS VUITTON | Sunnies PRADA | Scarf Vintage CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

MAXIMUM COMFORT

These days, all I wear is more about comfort than ever before. Sounds very logical but not always to me. I was always the stubborn one, the one to show up wearing high heels when you know your’e are going to regret it very much at the end of the day/night. Nothing was ever about comfort at all, feeling confident was all I ever cared about. And now the funny thing is, I feel more confident now than ever before. Maybe it’s the hormones, maybe it just that I have accepted that some things will change anyway, confident or not. Anyway, I’m always the one that promotes to be confident about what you wear, because when you feel good you look good. And maybe that’s also what being comfortable is all about. . | Top HUMANOID | Skirt H&M | Bag PRADA | Shoes H&M | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

MOMFRIEND

About a year ago I bought this pair of boyfriend jeans. In just a matter of time they became my favorite pair, wearing at least twice every week. I really loved  them because of the baggy fit, the perfect wash and the distressed parts that give a nice edge to all of my outfits. And now I’m still wearing them on a regular base, not only are they about the only pair that still fits me, they are still major comfortable. Ok, the are not so baggy any more, in fact, more of a tight fit now but they fit my body perfectly. These days I like to call them my momfriend instead of boyfriend. Hopefully one day they will transform back again. . | Blouse ZARA Men | Jeans ZARA | Heels DOLCE&GABBANA | Scarf CHANEL | Clutch HEMA | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

THE ONE THING

The one thing that I can absolutely not live without (wardrobe wise) is a black dress. And this one in particular. Over the past twelve years that I have this special one in my possession it has proven it self over and over again. And even now, half way my pregnancy, I still can’t live without it. The funny thing is, I bought it on sale, back then from a unknown designer to me. Well, she not so unknown anymore. I’m talking a real Isabel Marant here. I must confess I really was in doubt when I bought it, even on sale it didn’t come cheap, but I’m still very happy I did. This dress also stands for all the things she still stands for now. Timeless, well-made classics. Proven once again that some things are worth investing in. . | Dress ISABEL MARANT | Flats BODEN | Bag LOUIS VUITTON Neverfull | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

STRIPED

I know, it’s starting to look like an obsession but I just can’t stop buying stripes. I simply love anything striped, weater it’s a sweater, a pair of shoes or a dress, I own at least one pair and I love it. Exactly the reason that I bought this dress. It’s got summer written all over it and because of the comfortable streching fabric I will be able to wear it for a long period of time. | Jacket H&M | Dress ZARA | Clutch LOUIS VUITTON | Heels ZARA | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

THE ART OF DRESSING

The art of dressing is a craftsmanship that I have been trying to master since I started experimenting with clothes in my early teens. The last two or tree years I was finally getting the feeling that I was getting pretty close to my ideal wardrobe. And I have to admit, internet and this fashion blog really helped me along the way. Taking inspiration from others, testing it and then seeing it back on screen really gave me a idea of what is working for me and what definitely is not (pictures don’t lie I learnt). I got to know my body and personality really well and felt like my perfect wardrobe was for 90 % clear. Well, I can tell you now, that this pregnancy really trough me back to base. Suddenly the rules of the games have changed and all I can do is try to adapt. Not an easy task but up until now I feel like I can manage it. Maybe all those years of experimenting were good for something after all.   | Jacket, Dress and Heels all ZARA | Clutch TOPSHOP | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

SNEAKERS

This dress was the first piece of maternity wear I bought. Traditional maternity wear never excited me but thanks to Topshop and Asos that problem is fully covered. I love how their collections are mostly inspired by young and trendy women, something I can relate to. I also immediately bought myself a pair super comfy sneakers, the original Nike air max that I also owned about twenty years ago (and yes, that makes me feel really old). Ever since I became a heels-only girl I totally forgot how comfortable they can be. And now that I’m sort of forced to wear them I really love all this comfortable stuff and I get the feeling I’m not going to give it up any more.   | Dress TOPSHOP | Sneakers NIKE | Bag MANGO | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

SHORT STORY

From the moment I knew I was pregnant, and ok to be totally honest, from the moment I knew I wanted children I worried about how to dress while being the one  with a bump. Looking at traditional maternity wear and all magazines, shops and equally themed what-so-ever made me sad, really sad. Luckily the last couple of years this image has changed drastically and I’m determined to keep this trend going. Up until now, I’m almost half way, I still fit all of my own clothes so maintaining my own style is no problem so far. But I promised myself to stay as true to my own style as I possibly can, maybe I will not wear heels all day long anymore, I will keep wearing them when I can. And the same goes for short skirts,  fitted dresses and skinny jeans. I’m ready for the challenge. . | Shirt ZARA Men | Skirt ZARA | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA | Heels ZARA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

DAY AND NIGHT

When I’m packing my suitcase for a sunny destination I always make sure I pack outfits that work both day and night. I rather pack lots of accessories and shoes than a lot of clothes. It makes choosing what to wear so much easier and I don’t have to drag arround a lot of stuff that I don’t get to wear after all. Short and blouses, the perfect base, are suitable for any occasion. Again I just  switch shoes and accessories and I’m ready to go.   | Blouse ZARA | Shorts ZARA | Bag and sunnies CHANEL | Heels ZARA | Jewelry KENNETH JAY LANE | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

TRAVEL LIGHT

Although travel light was never one of my strengths but over the past years I have managed to master the art of light packing more and more. Off course the more you travel the smarter you get and the better you know what works for you what not. What really works for me is sticking to a color palette or a certain “theme” to make it more easy to make lots of combinations with minimal items. So  travel light, travel white was one of the themes I stuck to this time. White is perfect for day and perfect for night. I just switch from flats to heels, add some statement jewelry and a clutch and voila, I’m ready for a Caribbean night out.   | T-shirt ZARA | Skirt ZARA | Heels ALEXANDER WANG | Sunnies PRADA | Clutch H&M | Necklace PIECES | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |
