STARS

‘Life’s a party, but it’s your job to hang out the bunting! So true if you ask me. And the bunting? Just hanging in my closet! I believe every day is a party and nothing more fun than getting ready to party. Most of the time I like that evermore than the party itself. Or just wear a beautiful dress on any given day, just because I can. Because, we live in a free country were woman can wear whatever they want. Even a party dress in the middle of the day, combined with a sweater and a denim jacket. I love it! | Dress RECLAIMED VINTAGE […]

TO THE POINT

I have a weird sense of memory when it comes to all the clothing and accessories that I own. I almost exactly know when I bought it, what it cost me and the occasion I bought it for. For some reason this information is all somewhere stored in the back of my mind. Some items have a story that is just to good to forget. Like this sweater for instance that was not available in The Netherlands. I ordered it online and had it sent over to my French relatives who brought personally delivered it to me. Yes, in the pocket! And later on this denim shirt, found at a supermarket-discounter for almost next to nothing. Yes! Especially fun when you see someone’s face when they ask me where I got that cute shirt.   | Sweater MAJE | Shirt ALDI | Jeans ASOS | Heels ZARA | Bag CHLOE |

ATEAM

I’m always carrying a vest or jacket in case I get cold. During the day I put it on or take it of multiple times, usually depends on whether I’m sitting still or not. So comfort is key and off course the need to look good. A black blazer is always my number 1 choice but to for some variation I depend on this casual vest. I love how it really works well with everything. From jeans to black dresses, even a classic office look gets better. One of my best buys from last year.   | Vest MANGO | Shirt LOST INK | Trouser ZARA | Heels ZARA | Bag MANGO |

JUST ONE

Trend come and go and after many years of experimenting I feel like I’m finally getting closer to my ideal wardrobe. Mainly because the last few years I shop by the Pareto principle, also known as the 80–20 rule. This means that 20% of what I’m buying is trendy or a real eye-catcher and 80% is timeless and of good quality. I also realized that 80% of the time I’m only wearing 20% of my wardrobe. I can go on forever because actually you can apply the 20/80 rule everywhere. But as I’m not here to lecture anyone I will stop here. I just love to wear black and jeans (80%) and something trendy (20%). So far a mathematical explanation of this outfit. If my math teacher explained it like this I probably would have paid more attention…..   | Jacket ZARA | Top ASOS | Jeans ZARA | Heels TOPSHOP | Bag CHANEL |

DENIM DAYS

More and more denim pieces are finding their way into my closet these days. Not only because designing them is still my main job and it happens to be very trendy this year but also because it’s kids proof. Denim and jeans in particular, is so easy to wear, combines with almost anything and very easy to maintain. It’s almost indestructible  and one of the few things that only look better with age. In short, the perfect piece of clothing to survive  my first year as a mother in style.   | Dress ASOS | Flats DOLCE&GABBANA | Bag VINTAGE | Sunnies PRADA | Scarf CHANEL |

COMFORT COMBO

Not long ago I would have styled this skirt in a totally different way. Meaning, I would have never ever worn it with sneakers or any other type of flat shoe. Maybe I would have made an exception for a pair of flat sandals on a holiday but heels were always the core of my outfits. But luckily last year I discovered a whole new side of my wardrobe, the more comfortable side. Maybe being pregnant had something to do with it or maybe I now finally have the confidence to ditch my heels now and then. The best thing I have learned, style wise, over the past year is that you can look very feminine while wearing sneakers. And feel good about it.   | T-shirt ASOS | Skirt H&M | Slip-ons H&M | Bag and Sunnies CHANEL |

BLACK

Nothing beats wearing an LBD, not even in the heat of summer. And although I have more black dresses than I could ever need, there is always room for more. I love them all the same but this one is specially dear to me since this was the first thing I bought after Chloé was born. I bought it specially to wear to the party we held for her to celebrate her coming in to this world. Along with the Sophia Webster heels I already told you about earlier (click here) they made the perfect combination to make me feel like my old self again.   | Dress ASOS | Heels KURT GEIGER | Bag DIANE VON FURSTENBERG | Sunnies PRADA |

OVER MY SCHOULDERS

I love to wear my coat the fashionable way (read; over the shoulder) but like everyone, I’m always struggling to keep it in place. Now a cape short of gives me the same fashionable feeling but with a little more comfort. So when I spotted this cape-jacket I knew this was the solution. I absolutely love it so much that I’m even considering buying it in black as well. Perfect for next season, non? | Cape jacket ZARA | T-shirt ASOS | Jeans REPLAY | Heels DOLCE&GABBANA | Bag VINTAGE |

PALAZZO

Besides the flared jeans I’m also deeply in love with palazzo pants. Now more than ever you can find them almost anywhere. I love the way they sweep around your legs like a breezy maxi-skirt but are as comfortable as summer pant should be. And because my high heels are a bit hidden and the waistline is high they make your legs look long and lean. To bad the most effect is gone when wearing flats but that’s just another good excuse for wearing heels I guess. Last year I already found the perfect palazzo in white and blue (Click here) so this year I added this one in black and orange to my wardrobe. Because if it works for you, stick to it they say. | Top ASOS | Pants ZARA | Bag and Sunnies CHANEL | Heels ZARA |

THE NEW SKINNY

When I’m not wearing a skinny jeans I’m usually wearing some sort of black skinny trousers and the leather version (real or fake) is by far my favorite. Easy to combine with almost everything, dressed up or dressed down, this garment will do the trick. Even now when the weather is turning for the better I can not live without this style anymore. | Jacket ZARA | Pants H&M | Top ZARA | Heels KURT GEIGER | Bag ZARA | | Sunglasses CHANEL | Bracelets KENNETH JAY LANE | .

CORNERSTONE

I always rather dress up than dress down, but ever since I was pregnant and later on being a mom I noticed than on many days comfort is key. So to compensate or sometimes to hide my comfortable or understated looks I found the perfect cover-up. Ever since I spotted this gem online I couldn’t get it of my mind, and that’s always a very bad sign as you know. But ever since it arrived in my life I haven’t regret it for one second. Like any coat should be, it’s the perfect cornerstone for my wardrobe 2.0. | Coat ASOS BLACK | Sweater COS | Jeans and Shoes ZARA | Bag H&M | Sunglasses PRADA | | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

FLOURISHING

With 36 weeks and counting I can now definitely say that maternity wear is not my cup of tea. I have tried and tested a couple of maternity jeans, t-shirts and tops and non of them are to my liking. I try to avoid them as much as I can, guess it’s just not for me. The only items that I have not regret buying are all dresses. Now they are comfortable without any concessions. Like this folk floral printed one from Asos Maternity. It’s my current favorite dress to wear, mainly because it’s just a “normal” dress with some extra space at the waistline, and sometimes that’s just all it takes. By the way, this dress is also available in a “normal” size  for all you non pregnant. Now that’s why I love Asos! . | Dress ASOS | Fake Fur stola H&M | Heels ZARA | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

CAPTURED

Some moments in life need to be captured in the most perfect way and my growing baby belly is definitely one of those kind of moments. So for the first time ever I planned a maternity photoshoot, and to make sure everything went smoothly I planned it like a little military mission. Only one chance to do this right, right. Luckily this is what I do best so I started as I always do, seeking inspiration on Pinterest and the rest of internet. Soon I found what I was looking for. Being at ease is very important on a project like this so I asked one of my trusted photographer’s to help me. Together we searched for the perfect location with the best light and background. Off course I did the styling myself, although a lot of stuff I pulled in wasn’t even used in the end, the belly got all the attention haha. To keep things natural and personal I also choose to do my own hair and make-up. Because we wanted to use the natural sunlight we were a bit depending on the weather to cooperate that day. Luckily the weather gods were on our side that day, […]

URBAN CAMOUFLAGE

Black is like urban camouflage for me, I can wear it any time any where. Exactly why  this pair of jeans is my current favorite. Only one minor detail, I’m afraid me and this jeans won’t make it till the end of the month. My belly is really getting in the way of this love affair, all the more reasons to wear it as much as possible these days. This time combined with a boy fit t-shirt that will stay with me till the end and some of my favorite black accessories. . | T-shirt ASOS | Jeans TOPSHOP | Heels &OTHERSTORIES | Bag & Sunnies CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

BLUE SKIES

All good things come to end and so did my week off in the snow. On the last day there was nothing but blue skies and sunshine, such an gorgeous contrast with the white landscape. Just like this jacket is. This baby blue number is the perfect transseasonal piece. Warm enough for the cold mornings we are still have but in a shade that’s already a link to summer. Worn with thights and my furry Fendi heels all winter appropriate but also ready for jeans and sandals. THE ANCHOR

Let’s say that I have a “thing” for elbow patches. I also have a “thing” for stripes, and many more now that we’ve come to mind, but lets start with the patches. I love simple sweaters, they match with anything so anytime I see one that’s matches my criteria I buy them. Now a closet full of round neck sweaters is so boring so maybe that’s were my fascination for elbow patches started. And while these anchor’s are not exactly patches they are placed at the right spot and just that one special detail detail that sets this sweater apart from all the other sweaters I have. Including all the striped ones I own. | Jacket ZARA | Sweater ASOS | Pants ZARA | Heels ZARA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST |

BLACK, BLUE & GOLD

Sometimes your’e so happy with a new purchase but later on you feel even more happy about it. Well that’s exactly the case with these boots. I loved them since they first arrived but now they have proven to be super comfortable and giving a luxury touch to any outfit. After not wearing  boots for a long time these ones surly made me loving boots again. This time I combined them with a A-line skirt, a cable sweater and the jacket I can’t do without. DRESSCOAT

Besides all the big puffy coats that I have been comfortably wearing non-stop this winter I wanted something more dressy. Something more polished and fitted. Well, be carefull what you wish for, because within days I spotted this coat at Zara. Because of the voilant it’s almost more like a dress than a coat, something that definitely sets it appart from all my other coats. The only thing I did not like about it was the original belt that came along with it. So I swapped it with a belt of my own and voila, the perfect dresscoat. | Coat ZARA | Pants H&M | Heels MANGO | Clutch ZARA | Necklace PIECES | Watch ASOS | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST |

NYE

Another year has past and a new one is just arround the corner. Somehow this year I feel like I can’t wait for the new year to begin. No sad feeling about the last one, I’m all about the new one. Not that I had a bad year or so, it was actually very good, but I’m just so excited about the new year to come. I have all kinds of good intensions and great things planned that I can’t wait to live them. That’s the beauty of a new year for me, technically nothing changes but i’t a great moment to start something new. For now I like to stay with the old for a moment and thank you all for reading this past year, I hope you have enjoyed it as much as it enjoys me and that it inspires you as much as it inspires me. I also like to thank my loved ones and everyone else who’s helped out or supported me this year. I can’t do it without you. Now back to my outfit. New years eve, the perfect moment to wear that partydress you’ve been wanting to wear for a long time. I found […]

WAISTED

When I stumbled up on these light grey heels I immediately fell for them. This pointy shoe with it’s soft grey color is  perfect for when I want to give my black heels a rest. And if they manage to survive the winter they will also match perfectly to my spring and summer wardrobe. For now, the weather is still warm enough to wear them bare footed. Perfect with this high waisted pants that I also couldn’t resist. Combined with a simple black top, my BFF (best fake fur haha) and a cute embellished bag I’m feeling all Marlene Dietrich. | Fur Stola H&M | Top COS | Trousers ZARA | Heels ZARA | Bag ASOS | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST |

PARDON MOI

The last time I wore this gorgeous dress I was enjoying a heavenly summer holiday on sunny Santorini, Greece. Sadly all good things must come to an end, and now I find myself batteling the auttumn weather. But that doesn’t stop me from reworking some of my summer favorites. And now what better way to rework a summer maxi dress (click HERE to see my summer look) than to just add a fun sweater. This season it functions more like an maxi skirt, easy to combine with all kinds of tops and jackets. This way a sleeveless dress will last all year round. | Dress ZARA TRF | Sweater ASOS | Jacket ZARA | Heels ZARA | Sunnies CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST |TUMBLR |

DRAW THE LINE

Stripes tops are one thing I can never have to much of. I especially love this one from Asos. For it’s price the fabric and cut are actually really good. This one is  also a bit more fancy that the cotton ones I always stack up. Just to good to pas by as I may say myself but I think this is were I have to draw the line. RUE DE PARIS

I’m a bit behind on my blog post lately but there’s just to much to share these days. Already 2 weeks ago I left for Paris, this time not for my pleasure only but mainly to support my boyfriend who was visiting the Maison & Objet just outsite Paris. So Friday afternoon we finally arrived in the city of love, after our favorite waste of time, strolling arround the city and hanging out a several cafe’s, our first day already came to an end.  The next day my boyfriend headed for the fair very early and left me all along in the city. My first time ever alone in Paris, so what was I gonna do?? Shop off course!! All day I pretended to be a parisienne by traveling on the metro alone, eating fresh baked croissants, shopping at Rue Saint Honoré and so on. Now I don’t have to tell you that I had the best of time and off course I scored some nice new stuff along the way. The only thing I don’t recommend is entering the Chanel Maquillage store alone and getting your make-up done by a Chanel proffessionel. I’m no pussy when it comes to […]

TOUCH OF YELLOW

After the most amazing summer holiday destination, I was back in my hometown for just a few days, before leaving for Paris again. I know, life is rough sometimes. I decided to make the most out of my slightly tanned skin (sadly I’m not very good at sunbathing) by wearing lost of black and these amazing yellow heels I bought at Zara. They remind me of a pair of Manolo Blahnik that are on my wishlist forever but that I also find a bit to exspencive for now (remeber the ones that Carrie wears on her wedding in SATC the movie?? Right, the blue ones). And now that my wishlist is only getting longer instead of shorter I doubt they will ever be mine. But these Zara ones will do just fine for me, for now, and I’ll just keep on dreaming of all the things on my wishlist.     | Jacket H&M | Top ASOS | Short ZARA | Heels ZARA | Bag Prada | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

JUMP

I’m a lucky girl, after spending a full week in Santorini (stay tuned for more beautiful pictures) I’m spending this weekend in my beloved Paris. Again I hear you think, yes again. This time me and my boy are visiting the Maison et Objet and off course do a little shopping and city exploring.  Any reason to visit Paris is a good one don’t you think. I guess that’s also part of why I love this jumpsuit so much, the Eiffel tower on it represents this city in a nutshell and always reminds me of all the good memories I have of it. It’s also very easy and comfortable to wear, summer or winter, what ever the occasion, it fits me like a glove. Just like Paris.   | Jumpsuit ASOS | Heels Dolce&Gabbana | Clutch H&M | Sunnies H&M | Watch Marc by Marc Jacobs | Bracelet Speechless | Ring YSL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |
