SALE SCORE

Sale, you either love it or hate but you can’t hide from it. And that’s exactly why I’ve turned myself into a sale lover. Back in the days, when we could only shop in stores haha, I really hated this time of year. Messy stores and crowded streets, not my type of shopping. But ever since I started shopping online I also started to love the sales. Nothing beats sale shopping out of the comfort of my own home or office. And over time I have learned a few tricks as well. For one, I have subscribed myself to the mailing-list of all my favorite stores so I know exactly when the sale starts and when to get the best discounts. Then, when I spot something I love I always ask myself 1 question; would I buy it if it was not on sale? If, the answer is NO¬†than don’t do it. You will not be happy in the end. And last but not least, stick to the basics and things you are sure of to wear over and over again. This way you would be buying anything just because it was on sale. And so that’s basically how this […]

The first time I spotted this jacket it immediately made me think of the Pink Ladies from Grease. So if I ever wanted to start my own Girl Squat this jacket might as well be our uniform. SHADES OF GOLD

So then it’s already time to write the last post of this year. I just can’t believe that this year is almost over, so yes, time does fly when you’re having fun. The past year was nothing but great for me, being a mama was on my wishlist for a very long time and it has been such a blessing to be one for a whole year arround. Nothing has ever felt quite like this before, not even my first Chanel purchase can match this if you know what I mean. And the best part of all is that I finally feel like I’m in control. A year ago I never imagined myself balancing it all, a family, a career, a blog and a social life. It all seemed just to much and I decided for the first part to just focus myself on the important things in life, my family and my own wel beiing. But, once I got the hang of it and I was feeling more in control and at ease with my life something really started to itch. Like so many times in life, you don’t know what you’ve got untill it’s gone. I realized that […]

RED

Finally, the holiday’s are upon us, my favorite part of the year. For me this is where it all comes together, fashion technically speaking. I just love winter clothing more than summer stuff and off course these days it’s totally normal to go all the way with sequins and glitter. Even during the day nobody will raise an eyebrow when I’m wearing my favorite party pieces. Except maybe a some man or two. And then I fell in love with this cute LBD from Maje. Simple and chic, no glitter and no fuzz. Perfect for daytime festivity’s like work related Christmas dinners or cocktail-party’s. So hereby I declare the party season opened. | Dress MAJE | Heels CHANEL | Clutch ZARA |

MELLOW YELLOW

Yellow. I used to hate this this color so much, and only because my mom said it sooted me. Much rather I wore pink, like the person I most looked up to, my big sister. These days, yellow is one of my favorite colors and even my man, kid and house get their shair. Luckily not reluctantly. JUST ONE

Trend come and go and after many years of experimenting I feel like I’m finally getting closer to my ideal wardrobe. Mainly because the last few years I shop by the Pareto principle, also known as the 80‚Äď20 rule. This means that 20% of what I’m buying is trendy or a real eye-catcher and 80% is timeless and of good quality. I also realized that 80% of the time I’m only wearing 20% of my wardrobe. I can go on forever because actually you can apply the 20/80 rule everywhere. But as I’m not here to lecture anyone I will stop here. I just love to wear black and jeans (80%) and something trendy (20%). So far a mathematical explanation of this outfit. If¬†my math teacher explained it like this I probably would have paid more attention…..   | Jacket ZARA | Top ASOS | Jeans ZARA | Heels TOPSHOP | Bag CHANEL |

DENIM DAYS

More and more denim pieces are finding their way into my closet these days. Not only because designing them is still my main job and it happens to be very trendy this year but also because it’s kids proof. Denim and jeans in particular, is so easy to wear, combines with almost anything and very easy to maintain. It’s almost indestructible ¬†and one of the few things that only look better with age. In short, the perfect piece of clothing to survive ¬†my first year as a mother in style.   | Dress ASOS | Flats DOLCE&GABBANA | Bag VINTAGE | Sunnies PRADA | Scarf CHANEL |

CUPID

Sometimes cupid shoots straight into my heart, like when I spotted this perfect all-year-around-wearable sweater from Carven. Not only perfect for the new season to come (my favorite, fall!) But also on a chilly summer day or on a winters day. Combines perfectly with all denim and black pieces. Just the type of clothing you are never looking for but always have to have in your closet.   | Sweater CARVEN | Skirt MANGO | Heels ZARA | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA |

COMFORT COMBO

Not long ago I would have styled this skirt in a totally different way. Meaning, I would have never ever worn it with sneakers or any other type of flat shoe. Maybe I would have made an exception for a pair of flat sandals on a holiday but heels were always the core of my outfits. But luckily last year I discovered a whole new side of my wardrobe, the more comfortable side. Maybe being pregnant had something to do with it or maybe I now finally have the confidence to ditch my heels now and then. The best thing I have learned, style wise, over the past year is that you can look very feminine while wearing sneakers. And feel good about it.   | T-shirt ASOS | Skirt H&M | Slip-ons H&M | Bag and Sunnies CHANEL |

OVER MY SCHOULDERS

I love to wear my coat the fashionable way (read; over the shoulder) but like everyone, I’m always struggling to keep it in place. Now a cape short of gives me the same fashionable feeling but with a little more comfort. So when I spotted this cape-jacket I knew this was the solution. I absolutely love it so much that I’m even considering buying it in black as well. Perfect for next season, non? | Cape jacket ZARA | T-shirt ASOS | Jeans REPLAY | Heels DOLCE&GABBANA | Bag VINTAGE |

PALAZZO

Besides the flared jeans I’m also deeply in love with palazzo pants. Now more than ever you can find them almost anywhere. I love the way they sweep around your legs like a breezy maxi-skirt but are as comfortable as summer pant should be. And because my high heels are a bit hidden and the waistline is high they make your legs look long and lean. To bad the most effect is gone when wearing flats but that’s just another good excuse for wearing heels I guess. Last year I already found the perfect palazzo in white and blue (Click here)¬†so this year I added this one in black and orange to my wardrobe. Because¬†if it works for you, stick to it they say. | Top ASOS | Pants ZARA | Bag and Sunnies CHANEL | Heels ZARA |

UP HIGH

Special occasions are always a good excuse to purchase something really special. And with something really special I mean serious designer stuff. So last year, when my hormones were at an all time high I spotted the most gorgeous Sophia Webster heels online. Not your everyday splurge but really something for a special occasion. And of course I had just the perfect occasion in mind, our baby girls first party to introduce her to all of our family, friends and acquaintances. A few days later a big gift box arrived at my door and when I opened it I jumped for joy. They were perfect except for 1 minor detail, they didn’t fit. Being 8 months pregnant does not go so well with high heels, especially high heels with narrow ankle straps. But I kept faith that after giving birth it all would go back to its normal size. And as you can see, luckily it did. 4 weeks after giving birth I was wearing these beauties for Chlo√©‘s first party.   | Jacket H&M | Jeans ZARA | Bag ZARA | Heels SOPHIA WEBSTER | Sunnies PRADA |

CITY SAFARI

I love to try new combinations and new stuff, trying to make them my own and blend in to my wardrobe. But this time trying something new does not involve new stuff. I simply combined two pieces that I had never worn together before. Funny, because both the jacket and the pants are among the most worn pieces in my wardrobe. Together they make a whole new statement, like I’m on some kind of city safari or something. Anyway, I really like the feeling of this combination that much that it got me thinking of buying a utility jumpsuit. I’m really going for green this summer. | Jacket H&M | Trousers RIVER ISLAND | Broche CHANEL | Heels ZARA | | Sunglasses PRADA | Bag PAUL’S BOUTIQUE |

THE NEW SKINNY

When I’m not wearing a skinny jeans I’m usually wearing some sort of black skinny trousers and the leather version (real or fake) is by far my favorite. Easy to combine with almost everything, dressed up or dressed down, this garment will do the trick. Even now when the weather is turning for the better I can not live without this style anymore. | Jacket ZARA | Pants H&M | Top ZARA | Heels KURT GEIGER | Bag ZARA | | Sunglasses CHANEL | Bracelets KENNETH JAY LANE | .

THE LONGEST

Looks like an old friend of mine is back and he’s here to stay for good. You either love him or hate him but from now on there no way arround it annymore. So take a stand and stick to it, no need to tell you which camp I choose. I know it’s not the most easy style to wear since they don’t fit every body type very easily.¬†But if you find the perfect one than they will serve you well. A good pair will make your legs go on for miles and slims your waist to its very best point. Mine is always high waisted and super long so I can wear them with my highest heels. BLUE BLACK

This season being comfortable and stylish can be so easy. I just love al the sportswear inspired clothing that is in stores now. Off course it’s all about how you wear it, dressed up or dressed down. I’m wearing my trackpants with heels and a pinstripe coat when I want to be dressed up. When I want to be more dressed down I combine them with my new Kenzo sneakers and a simple sweater. Both perfect options for the upcoming winter season. . | Coat MANGO | Top H&M | Pants ZARA | Heels ALEXANDER WANG | Bag and Sunnies CHANEL | . | Follow me on¬†FACEBOOK¬†|¬†INSTAGRAM¬†|¬†TWITTER¬†|¬†PINTEREST¬†|¬†TUMBLR¬†| .

FLOURISHING

With 36 weeks and counting I can now definitely say that maternity wear is not my cup of tea. I have tried and tested a couple of maternity jeans, t-shirts and tops and non of them are to my liking. I try to avoid them as much as I can, guess it’s just not for me. The only items that I have not regret buying are all dresses. Now they are comfortable without any concessions. Like this folk floral printed one from Asos Maternity. It’s my current favorite dress to wear, mainly because it’s just a “normal” dress with some extra space at the waistline, and sometimes that’s just all it takes. By the way, this dress is also available in a “normal” size¬† for all you non pregnant. Now that’s why I love Asos! . | Dress ASOS | Fake Fur stola H&M | Heels ZARA | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on¬†FACEBOOK¬†|¬†INSTAGRAM¬†|¬†TWITTER¬†|¬†PINTEREST¬†|¬†TUMBLR¬†|

SNAPSHOT

Just last week I was looking for a pair of shoes to go with my outfit when I noticed something. I noticed that flat shoes were almost filling up half of my shoe closet. Something I could have not imagined a year or so ago. But he, when you have to make changes, you better do it right. A whole new world opened up to me, the world of sneakers and other comfortable shoes. While in Paris I scored my favorite pair so far, the Kenzo eye sneakers. So easy to combine with everything from jeans to a black dress and so comfortable to wear. They are the proof that some changes are for the better, only now I have to make sure flats don’t take over the rest of my closet haha. . | Cardigan COS | T-shirt VOGUE PARIS VFNO | Jeans ZARA | Sneakers KENZO | Accessories CHANEL | . | Follow me on¬†FACEBOOK¬†|¬†INSTAGRAM¬†|¬†TWITTER¬†|¬†PINTEREST¬†|¬†TUMBLR¬†|

LE PARISIEN

So last week I was back in my much beloved city; Paris. The kick start of a short holiday before our baby girl arrives, these days also know as a babymoon haha (love that term) . Off course I had planned a short shopping spree but due to our late arrival (traffic jams) and an early meeting with friends I was forced to keep it even shorter. In preparation of my new life I was looking for a new pair of sneakers, I had my eye on 2 pairs after our last visit to Paris back in June, a pair form the Nike Style Lab and a pair I saw at Kenzo. Well, you can guess which pair I got now. For the occasion I was wearing on of my favorite dresses of late, another striped number that I also found at Zara. Although again it’s not officially maternity wear it still fits me perfectly. Combined with a pair of flats and my favorite accessories it still makes me feel ladylike in a time when comfort is key. . | Dress ZARA | Flats BODEN | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

CLEAN SLATE

So after wearing black and only black these past few weeks I was so ready to make a clean slate. And what better way to break a habit by doing the exact opposite. So an all white outfit it is. Besides black, white is my favorite color these days, I know it will never bore me. August is also always the month when I start with a clean slate wardrobe wise. I stop buying summer clothes and dive right into the new season. And this year I‚Äôm more excited then ever before. Planning my wardrobe beyond my pregnancy is something that really keeps me going (fashion wise) right now. Not that I don‚Äôt enjoy the physical state my body is in right now because I really love it, but let‚Äôs just say getting dressed is a lot easier ¬†when your carrying around a baby belly. My first purchase are these super comfortable hairy sneakers. Perfect to wear now with bare legs and later on with pants or tights. They will be the base for my wardrobe this winter. A kick-off for my new style that will match my new lifestyle. Never thought that I would become someone that puts comfort […]

BACK TO BLACK

And again I‚Äôm wearing a black dress in Paris. The first thing that I always pack, no matter what my travel destination is. Only by now I‚Äôm starting to feel like it‚Äôs all I‚Äôm wearing these days. Maybe I can better start a new blog that only futures black dresses because if I could I would wear one every day. I really love them but sometimes it makes me feel a little helpless. Like I can‚Äôt come up with anything else to wear, even when I have plenty of other stuff. But ¬†it‚Äôs just the one garment I feel most comfortable in these days. So now my next mission is to find a look that makes me feel just a comfortable as this one does because I don’t want to wear the same look over and over again till the end of October. Time to do some serious shopping, and no black dresses aloud. . | Dress COS | Flats DOLCE&GABBANA | Bag, Sunnies & Scarf All CHANEL¬† | . | Follow me on¬†FACEBOOK¬†|¬†INSTAGRAM¬†|¬†TWITTER¬†|¬†PINTEREST¬†|¬†TUMBLR¬†|

WHEN IN PARIS

When I‚Äôm in Paris I always feel like dressing up, maybe because dressing up here doesn’t feel so dressed up as it does back home. It feels natural because almost all of the men and women here look good. ¬†Even now, 25 weeks into my pregnancy I still feel like dressing up every once in a while. And why shouldn’t I, I’m still the same woman I always was. I was never the one to show a lot of skin, but a ¬†little black dress combined with heels was, and will always be, one of my favorite combinations to wear when I go out. Even a backless dress is still an option if you ask me. After all, get dressed is still all about feeling good in your own skin and showing off the best of you . Gladly some things don‚Äôt change, same woman new curves is my motto these days. . ¬†| Dress ZARA | Heels MIU MIU | Bracelet CHANEL | . | Follow me on¬†FACEBOOK¬†|¬†INSTAGRAM¬†|¬†TWITTER¬†|¬†PINTEREST¬†|¬†TUMBLR¬†|
