SALE SCORE

Sale, you either love it or hate but you can’t hide from it. And that’s exactly why I’ve turned myself into a sale lover. Back in the days, when we could only shop in stores haha, I really hated this time of year. Messy stores and crowded streets, not my type of shopping. But ever since I started shopping online I also started to love the sales. Nothing beats sale shopping out of the comfort of my own home or office. And over time I have learned a few tricks as well. For one, I have subscribed myself to the mailing-list of all my favorite stores so I know exactly when the sale starts and when to get the best discounts. Then, when I spot something I love I always ask myself 1 question; would I buy it if it was not on sale? If, the answer is NO than don’t do it. You will not be happy in the end. And last but not least, stick to the basics and things you are sure of to wear over and over again. This way you would be buying anything just because it was on sale. And so that’s basically how this […]

SHADES OF GOLD

So then it’s already time to write the last post of this year. I just can’t believe that this year is almost over, so yes, time does fly when you’re having fun. The past year was nothing but great for me, being a mama was on my wishlist for a very long time and it has been such a blessing to be one for a whole year arround. Nothing has ever felt quite like this before, not even my first Chanel purchase can match this if you know what I mean. And the best part of all is that I finally feel like I’m in control. A year ago I never imagined myself balancing it all, a family, a career, a blog and a social life. It all seemed just to much and I decided for the first part to just focus myself on the important things in life, my family and my own wel beiing. But, once I got the hang of it and I was feeling more in control and at ease with my life something really started to itch. Like so many times in life, you don’t know what you’ve got untill it’s gone. I realized that […]

MELLOW YELLOW

Yellow. I used to hate this this color so much, and only because my mom said it sooted me. Much rather I wore pink, like the person I most looked up to, my big sister. These days, yellow is one of my favorite colors and even my man, kid and house get their shair. Luckily not reluctantly. JUST ONE

Trend come and go and after many years of experimenting I feel like I’m finally getting closer to my ideal wardrobe. Mainly because the last few years I shop by the Pareto principle, also known as the 80–20 rule. This means that 20% of what I’m buying is trendy or a real eye-catcher and 80% is timeless and of good quality. I also realized that 80% of the time I’m only wearing 20% of my wardrobe. I can go on forever because actually you can apply the 20/80 rule everywhere. But as I’m not here to lecture anyone I will stop here. I just love to wear black and jeans (80%) and something trendy (20%). So far a mathematical explanation of this outfit. If my math teacher explained it like this I probably would have paid more attention…..   | Jacket ZARA | Top ASOS | Jeans ZARA | Heels TOPSHOP | Bag CHANEL |

CUPID

Sometimes cupid shoots straight into my heart, like when I spotted this perfect all-year-around-wearable sweater from Carven. Not only perfect for the new season to come (my favorite, fall!) But also on a chilly summer day or on a winters day. Combines perfectly with all denim and black pieces. Just the type of clothing you are never looking for but always have to have in your closet.   | Sweater CARVEN | Skirt MANGO | Heels ZARA | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA |

COMFORT COMBO

Not long ago I would have styled this skirt in a totally different way. Meaning, I would have never ever worn it with sneakers or any other type of flat shoe. Maybe I would have made an exception for a pair of flat sandals on a holiday but heels were always the core of my outfits. But luckily last year I discovered a whole new side of my wardrobe, the more comfortable side. Maybe being pregnant had something to do with it or maybe I now finally have the confidence to ditch my heels now and then. The best thing I have learned, style wise, over the past year is that you can look very feminine while wearing sneakers. And feel good about it.   | T-shirt ASOS | Skirt H&M | Slip-ons H&M | Bag and Sunnies CHANEL |

PALAZZO

Besides the flared jeans I’m also deeply in love with palazzo pants. Now more than ever you can find them almost anywhere. I love the way they sweep around your legs like a breezy maxi-skirt but are as comfortable as summer pant should be. And because my high heels are a bit hidden and the waistline is high they make your legs look long and lean. To bad the most effect is gone when wearing flats but that’s just another good excuse for wearing heels I guess. Last year I already found the perfect palazzo in white and blue (Click here) so this year I added this one in black and orange to my wardrobe. Because if it works for you, stick to it they say. | Top ASOS | Pants ZARA | Bag and Sunnies CHANEL | Heels ZARA |

THE LONGEST

Looks like an old friend of mine is back and he’s here to stay for good. You either love him or hate him but from now on there no way arround it annymore. So take a stand and stick to it, no need to tell you which camp I choose. I know it’s not the most easy style to wear since they don’t fit every body type very easily. But if you find the perfect one than they will serve you well. A good pair will make your legs go on for miles and slims your waist to its very best point. Mine is always high waisted and super long so I can wear them with my highest heels. If you weren’t a fan already maybe you are now. . | Jacket ZARA | Top COS | Jeans MANGO | Bag + broche CHANEL | Necklace PIECES | | Heels FENDI | Ring YSL | Sunglasses PRADA | | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

BLUE BLACK

This season being comfortable and stylish can be so easy. I just love al the sportswear inspired clothing that is in stores now. Off course it’s all about how you wear it, dressed up or dressed down. I’m wearing my trackpants with heels and a pinstripe coat when I want to be dressed up. When I want to be more dressed down I combine them with my new Kenzo sneakers and a simple sweater. Both perfect options for the upcoming winter season. . | Coat MANGO | Top H&M | Pants ZARA | Heels ALEXANDER WANG | Bag and Sunnies CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR | .

FLOURISHING

With 36 weeks and counting I can now definitely say that maternity wear is not my cup of tea. I have tried and tested a couple of maternity jeans, t-shirts and tops and non of them are to my liking. I try to avoid them as much as I can, guess it’s just not for me. The only items that I have not regret buying are all dresses. Now they are comfortable without any concessions. Like this folk floral printed one from Asos Maternity. It’s my current favorite dress to wear, mainly because it’s just a “normal” dress with some extra space at the waistline, and sometimes that’s just all it takes. By the way, this dress is also available in a “normal” size  for all you non pregnant. Now that’s why I love Asos! . | Dress ASOS | Fake Fur stola H&M | Heels ZARA | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

SNAPSHOT

Just last week I was looking for a pair of shoes to go with my outfit when I noticed something. I noticed that flat shoes were almost filling up half of my shoe closet. Something I could have not imagined a year or so ago. But he, when you have to make changes, you better do it right. A whole new world opened up to me, the world of sneakers and other comfortable shoes. While in Paris I scored my favorite pair so far, the Kenzo eye sneakers. So easy to combine with everything from jeans to a black dress and so comfortable to wear. They are the proof that some changes are for the better, only now I have to make sure flats don’t take over the rest of my closet haha. . | Cardigan COS | T-shirt VOGUE PARIS VFNO | Jeans ZARA | Sneakers KENZO | Accessories CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

LE PARISIEN

So last week I was back in my much beloved city; Paris. The kick start of a short holiday before our baby girl arrives, these days also know as a babymoon haha (love that term) . Off course I had planned a short shopping spree but due to our late arrival (traffic jams) and an early meeting with friends I was forced to keep it even shorter. In preparation of my new life I was looking for a new pair of sneakers, I had my eye on 2 pairs after our last visit to Paris back in June, a pair form the Nike Style Lab and a pair I saw at Kenzo. Well, you can guess which pair I got now. For the occasion I was wearing on of my favorite dresses of late, another striped number that I also found at Zara. Although again it’s not officially maternity wear it still fits me perfectly. Combined with a pair of flats and my favorite accessories it still makes me feel ladylike in a time when comfort is key. . | Dress ZARA | Flats BODEN | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

BACK TO BLACK

And again I’m wearing a black dress in Paris. The first thing that I always pack, no matter what my travel destination is. Only by now I’m starting to feel like it’s all I’m wearing these days. Maybe I can better start a new blog that only futures black dresses because if I could I would wear one every day. I really love them but sometimes it makes me feel a little helpless. Like I can’t come up with anything else to wear, even when I have plenty of other stuff. But  it’s just the one garment I feel most comfortable in these days. So now my next mission is to find a look that makes me feel just a comfortable as this one does because I don’t want to wear the same look over and over again till the end of October. Time to do some serious shopping, and no black dresses aloud. . | Dress COS | Flats DOLCE&GABBANA | Bag, Sunnies & Scarf All CHANEL  | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

URBAN CAMOUFLAGE

Black is like urban camouflage for me, I can wear it any time any where. Exactly why  this pair of jeans is my current favorite. Only one minor detail, I’m afraid me and this jeans won’t make it till the end of the month. My belly is really getting in the way of this love affair, all the more reasons to wear it as much as possible these days. This time combined with a boy fit t-shirt that will stay with me till the end and some of my favorite black accessories. . | T-shirt ASOS | Jeans TOPSHOP | Heels &OTHERSTORIES | Bag & Sunnies CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

EN VOGUE

I’m a big sucker for Vogue t-shirts, you know, the ones you get for free when you buy a copy (see me wearing them here, here and here). I was even feeling as happy as a child last year when I visiting the city of lights and I got my hands on a Vogue Paris t-shirt. I think the salesman never seen anybody that excited while picking up a September copy of Vogue haha. Anyway, the counter is at 3 right now and I hope my collection keeps on growing. My only advice is not to wash (or wear) them to often or to tumble dry them, sadly free t-shirts never respond well to that.   | Jacket H&M | T-shirt VOGUE NL | Jeans TOPSHOP | Bag and Sunnies CHANEL | Heels ZARA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

SHORT STORY

From the moment I knew I was pregnant, and ok to be totally honest, from the moment I knew I wanted children I worried about how to dress while being the one  with a bump. Looking at traditional maternity wear and all magazines, shops and equally themed what-so-ever made me sad, really sad. Luckily the last couple of years this image has changed drastically and I’m determined to keep this trend going. Up until now, I’m almost half way, I still fit all of my own clothes so maintaining my own style is no problem so far. But I promised myself to stay as true to my own style as I possibly can, maybe I will not wear heels all day long anymore, I will keep wearing them when I can. And the same goes for short skirts,  fitted dresses and skinny jeans. I’m ready for the challenge. . | Shirt ZARA Men | Skirt ZARA | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA | Heels ZARA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

GEOMETRIC

This geometric dress is comming with me on holiday for more then 5 years now I believe. I can’t rember when I bought it exactly but I sure love to wear it. It’s the ultimate vacation dress. It’s comfortable to wear, it doesn’t wrinkle in my suitcase and it doesn’t need much to wow. And then, did you spotted the little bump I’m carrying lately? Well yep, I’m 4 months pregnant by now and it feels so good not to hide it anymore. So funny to see how some outfits can hide my little bump and some (like this dress) make it seem bigger. Anyway, I’m super happy about it and can’t wait to show you more!   | Dress MANGO | Heels ZARA | Bag and sunnies CHANEL | Jewelry KENNETH JAY LANE, YSL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

ALL THE CLASSICS

I’ve talked about many times before, but as I get older I tend to go more and more for classic wardrobe pieces. Today it seams like I’ve put them all together. A classic jeans jacket, check. A striped tee/sweater or dress in this case, check. Strappy sandals (nude or black) check. A classic Chanel bag, double check! Well a men’s inspired watch also always does the trick when it comes to classic jewelry. Love how you can’t go wrong with staples like these. | Jacket Only Jeans | Dress TOPSHOP | Heels ZARA | Bag CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST |

THE SUMMER OF FLATS

One thing I am very sure about now is that this is the summer of flats. I have been buying more flats than heels lately and that says a lot about a avid heels wearer like myself. I, the one who sees flats as a necessity on days that I have to walk a lot or stand most of time (and sometimes I do wear heels on one of those accasions only to be very sorry later on, I guess you also know the feeling) is now wearing them with joy and really loving it. Off course it’s also great for a shoe lover like myself to have broaden my horizon, a lot more shoes that match my requirements now. BLACK, BLUE & GOLD

Sometimes your’e so happy with a new purchase but later on you feel even more happy about it. Well that’s exactly the case with these boots. I loved them since they first arrived but now they have proven to be super comfortable and giving a luxury touch to any outfit. After not wearing  boots for a long time these ones surly made me loving boots again. This time I combined them with a A-line skirt, a cable sweater and the jacket I can’t do without. Succes guaranteed. | Jacket H&M | Sweater ZARA | Skirt ASOS | Boots NELLY | Bag CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST |

DOUBLE LEATHER

If you would ask me 2 years ago which era schould never return fashion wise I would have said the nineties, no doubt about that. But like all things in fashion, one day you will find yourself wearing it, (for some of us) again, and loving it, again. Off course, you take the best parts out and leave the rest were it belongs, on fashions graveyard. Some things have to grow on you and somethings you like immediately. Things that deffinitely had to grow (back) on me were slippers and sneakers but wearing a skirt over pants is something I immediately loved again. It’s perfect for winter, when you don’t want to wear thights and yet not freeze your legs off. It’s also adds some grunge to my looks, just what you need sometimes to spice things up a little bit. So what do you think, are you ready to wear your skirts over pants again? After my first attempt, which was succesfull in my eyes I went for this all leather look. By keeping it all black it’s about as much gurnge as it gets for me, for now. | Sweater ZARA | Skirt OASIS | Pants H&M | […]

ALL THAT WANG

This Wang dress is one of the best purchases I did last year. Same for this jacket and heels form Zara, their both so comfortable that combine them with almost anything in my wardrobe, from dresses to jeans. Experiences like these made me realize that I should buy less and invest more. In the end, you can only spend your money once and you better spend it wise. Now let’s hope this will be a very successful project.   | Jacket ZARA | Dress ALEXANDER WANG | Bag CHANEL | Heels ZARA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST |

OKB

Over knee boots, or OKB’s,  can be a tricky item but  I have always loved them. None the less, you don’t want to end up looking like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. One of the reason I always style mine in a classic way. Preferably with a dress, sometimes with skinny jeans a la Kate Moss. She definitely know how style hers, but then again, she looks good in anything right.  Back to my outfit and these boots. I first spotted them in last month’s Glamour magazine and fell in love immediately. Like so many things seen in magazines I always find them hard to track down and when I do finally find them the usually are; 1 Overpriced, 2 Don’t look as good in real life, 3 not my cup of tea after all. Well I’m sure you can guess this was not the question with these babies. I think we are going to walk many miles together, comfortable and chic, just what I needed. | Dress Zara | Boots NLY | Bag and Sunnies CHANEL | Jewelry Christian Dior |   | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST |

CLASSICS

The last weekend before New Year I spend a few precious days with my familiy at this gorgeous castle near Maastricht, celebrating my parents 40th wedding anniversary. On days like these, when you don’t know what the activities will be, I always dress “safe” and so I usually make a combination of my favorite classics. This time I combined my pinstripe jacket (how classic can you go) with a pair of brogues (truly classics) and my ever favorite Chanel bag (classic of classics). Off course, the lastest addition to my vintage collection, a big Gucci scarf was not to be missed. Already such a big favorite that, I can tell you right now, you will see many more times to come. I guess everybody has his own favorites and classics that can’t be missed and these are definitely mine. . | Jacket MANGO | Pants H&M | Scarf Vintage GUCCI | Bag CHANEL | Shoes ZARA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST |

NYE

Another year has past and a new one is just arround the corner. Somehow this year I feel like I can’t wait for the new year to begin. No sad feeling about the last one, I’m all about the new one. Not that I had a bad year or so, it was actually very good, but I’m just so excited about the new year to come. I have all kinds of good intensions and great things planned that I can’t wait to live them. That’s the beauty of a new year for me, technically nothing changes but i’t a great moment to start something new. For now I like to stay with the old for a moment and thank you all for reading this past year, I hope you have enjoyed it as much as it enjoys me and that it inspires you as much as it inspires me. I also like to thank my loved ones and everyone else who’s helped out or supported me this year. I can’t do it without you. Now back to my outfit. New years eve, the perfect moment to wear that partydress you’ve been wanting to wear for a long time. I found […]
