SNAPSHOT

Just last week I was looking for a pair of shoes to go with my outfit when I noticed something. I noticed that flat shoes were almost filling up half of my shoe closet. Something I could have not imagined a year or so ago. But he, when you have to make changes, you better do it right. A whole new world opened up to me, the world of sneakers and other comfortable shoes. While in Paris I scored my favorite pair so far, the Kenzo eye sneakers. So easy to combine with everything from jeans to a black dress and so comfortable to wear. They are the proof that some changes are for the better, only now I have to make sure flats don’t take over the rest of my closet haha. . | Cardigan COS | T-shirt VOGUE PARIS VFNO | Jeans ZARA | Sneakers KENZO | Accessories CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

LE PARISIEN

So last week I was back in my much beloved city; Paris. The kick start of a short holiday before our baby girl arrives, these days also know as a babymoon haha (love that term) . Off course I had planned a short shopping spree but due to our late arrival (traffic jams) and an early meeting with friends I was forced to keep it even shorter. In preparation of my new life I was looking for a new pair of sneakers, I had my eye on 2 pairs after our last visit to Paris back in June, a pair form the Nike Style Lab and a pair I saw at Kenzo. Well, you can guess which pair I got now. For the occasion I was wearing on of my favorite dresses of late, another striped number that I also found at Zara. Although again it’s not officially maternity wear it still fits me perfectly. Combined with a pair of flats and my favorite accessories it still makes me feel ladylike in a time when comfort is key. . | Dress ZARA | Flats BODEN | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

BACK TO BLACK

And again I’m wearing a black dress in Paris. The first thing that I always pack, no matter what my travel destination is. Only by now I’m starting to feel like it’s all I’m wearing these days. Maybe I can better start a new blog that only futures black dresses because if I could I would wear one every day. I really love them but sometimes it makes me feel a little helpless. Like I can’t come up with anything else to wear, even when I have plenty of other stuff. But  it’s just the one garment I feel most comfortable in these days. So now my next mission is to find a look that makes me feel just a comfortable as this one does because I don’t want to wear the same look over and over again till the end of October. Time to do some serious shopping, and no black dresses aloud. . | Dress COS | Flats DOLCE&GABBANA | Bag, Sunnies & Scarf All CHANEL  | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

WHEN IN PARIS

When I’m in Paris I always feel like dressing up, maybe because dressing up here doesn’t feel so dressed up as it does back home. It feels natural because almost all of the men and women here look good.  Even now, 25 weeks into my pregnancy I still feel like dressing up every once in a while. And why shouldn’t I, I’m still the same woman I always was. I was never the one to show a lot of skin, but a  little black dress combined with heels was, and will always be, one of my favorite combinations to wear when I go out. Even a backless dress is still an option if you ask me. After all, get dressed is still all about feeling good in your own skin and showing off the best of you . Gladly some things don’t change, same woman new curves is my motto these days. .  | Dress ZARA | Heels MIU MIU | Bracelet CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

RUE DE CAMPAGNE

Last week is was time again for a little getaway to give my body and mind some well deserved rest. So all packed we left home for a few days on the countryside of France, followed by a few days in Paris. This year the weather was very cooperative so I packed a couple of very easy to wear dresses. And what better to pack than lots of stripes. I love stripes so much that I could literaly live in them every day, and in this cute village as well. In the morning we went out for fresh croissants and a baguette, very French off course. I decided to wear all of my favorite French stuff together, so it was stripes, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and strappy sandals in the mix. I felt like a fish in the sea. | Dress TOPSHOP | Heels ZARA | Bag LOUIS VUITTON | Sunnies PRADA | Scarf Vintage CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

DAY AND NIGHT

When I’m packing my suitcase for a sunny destination I always make sure I pack outfits that work both day and night. I rather pack lots of accessories and shoes than a lot of clothes. It makes choosing what to wear so much easier and I don’t have to drag arround a lot of stuff that I don’t get to wear after all. Short and blouses, the perfect base, are suitable for any occasion. Again I just  switch shoes and accessories and I’m ready to go.   | Blouse ZARA | Shorts ZARA | Bag and sunnies CHANEL | Heels ZARA | Jewelry KENNETH JAY LANE | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

ISLAND COLORS

For years now a LWD is always coming with me on my summer holidays. It’s the perfect blanc canvas that works with all of the accessories and shoes that I bring with me. I wear it dressed down during the day (like here in Rome) and dressed up during the evening but there is no big difference. I love to combine it with colorful accessories and shoes, tanned skin and holiday glow will do the rest.   | Dress MANGO | Heels ZARA | Clutch H&M | Sunnies + Bracelet  CHANEL | Earrings KENNET JAY LANE | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

GEOMETRIC

This geometric dress is comming with me on holiday for more then 5 years now I believe. I can’t rember when I bought it exactly but I sure love to wear it. It’s the ultimate vacation dress. It’s comfortable to wear, it doesn’t wrinkle in my suitcase and it doesn’t need much to wow. And then, did you spotted the little bump I’m carrying lately? Well yep, I’m 4 months pregnant by now and it feels so good not to hide it anymore. So funny to see how some outfits can hide my little bump and some (like this dress) make it seem bigger. Anyway, I’m super happy about it and can’t wait to show you more!   | Dress MANGO | Heels ZARA | Bag and sunnies CHANEL | Jewelry KENNETH JAY LANE, YSL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

TRAVEL LIGHT

Although travel light was never one of my strengths but over the past years I have managed to master the art of light packing more and more. Off course the more you travel the smarter you get and the better you know what works for you what not. What really works for me is sticking to a color palette or a certain “theme” to make it more easy to make lots of combinations with minimal items. So  travel light, travel white was one of the themes I stuck to this time. White is perfect for day and perfect for night. I just switch from flats to heels, add some statement jewelry and a clutch and voila, I’m ready for a Caribbean night out.   | T-shirt ZARA | Skirt ZARA | Heels ALEXANDER WANG | Sunnies PRADA | Clutch H&M | Necklace PIECES | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

A TRAVEL CLASSIC

One day in the past year I came to realize that I was in desperate need of a large travel bag. Always putting my handbags to the test when traveling. Imagine my Prada tote overflowing with stuff when I leave for any kind of destination, almost to point of total destruction. Well, a worn out Prada tote was never my style so after the last time I promised myself never to do this again and get my self a descent travel bag. So after some doing my research, which for me is about 50% of the total fun when buying a new investment, I came to the conclusion that all the real travel experts travel with a set of Louis Vuitton for decades now. Well a whole travel set of Louis Vuitton is definitely on my list, the list called Want!!! but definitely not going to happen any time soon!, but he you got to start somewhere. So I thought this Neverfull was going the be the perfect starting point and I can perfectly test it in about two weeks when I leave for a well deserved holiday to the Caribbean. So Neverfull, well, I don’t know if that true […]

BLUE SKIES

All good things come to end and so did my week off in the snow. On the last day there was nothing but blue skies and sunshine, such an gorgeous contrast with the white landscape. Just like this jacket is. This baby blue number is the perfect transseasonal piece. Warm enough for the cold mornings we are still have but in a shade that’s already a link to summer. Worn with thights and my furry Fendi heels all winter appropriate but also ready for jeans and sandals. OH SO BLUE

These pants and booties were by far the most worn items that I wore last week when strolling the streets of Gaschurn. When the temperatures drop being comfortable get more and more important for me and these 2 are just all that, comfortable without giving up on style. And although I wore them with pleasure I’m also very happy that I didn’t get to wear them any more since I got back home. Even though I really love winter and I love an all snowy landscape I’m so glad to be back home were spring is already up on us and I can easily were my favorite heels without slipping. | Sweater ZARA Men | Fur stola H&M Trend | Pants H&M | Booties BUFFALO | Sunnies CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST |

SCUBA & SNOW

So while I’m back home again I still have some photo’s I would like to share with you from my recent holiday. I took lots of time to relax and neglected my blog a bit to really get the rest I was longing for for a while. Although I enjoyed every minute of it I’m also always very happy to be home again and get back to work. And what a warm welcome it was, I mean literally, from the snow we jumped right into spring with temperatures of 20 degrees. But for now, back to last week, were the weather was also much warmer then normal at this time of year. Although I liked the fact that it was so warm I could easily do without a coat I was also a bit sad that lots of the snow was already gone. Normally the landscape is all white but now a lot of green was already showing. Luckily the sun made up for a lot of it and while out for our daily walk I made the most out my scuba sweater. It’s so soft and unbelievably warm that it went perfectly with my faux leather pants that I […]

CLASSICS

The last weekend before New Year I spend a few precious days with my familiy at this gorgeous castle near Maastricht, celebrating my parents 40th wedding anniversary. On days like these, when you don’t know what the activities will be, I always dress “safe” and so I usually make a combination of my favorite classics. This time I combined my pinstripe jacket (how classic can you go) with a pair of brogues (truly classics) and my ever favorite Chanel bag (classic of classics). Off course, the lastest addition to my vintage collection, a big Gucci scarf was not to be missed. Already such a big favorite that, I can tell you right now, you will see many more times to come. I guess everybody has his own favorites and classics that can’t be missed and these are definitely mine. . | Jacket MANGO | Pants H&M | Scarf Vintage GUCCI | Bag CHANEL | Shoes ZARA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST |

THE LEGEND

So last Thursday my official birthday was there and to celebrate my lover and I planned a small getaway to one of Holland’s capitals, The Hague. I choose to go here because till the end of March 2014 you can visit the exhibition Chanel; The Legend at the Gemeentemuseum. And as a true Chanel lover this exposition in my own country was not to be missed. The exhibition tells you the story of the life of Coco Chanel. From her early childhood, her life in Paris, how she build her business and off course all her lovers. If, like me, you already have read some books about Chanel, you will probably know most of the stories, but somehow it stays very inspiring. At least to me. This exposition is besides all the story of a fashion designer, also about a woman who was very much in control of her life and also ahead of her time. Maybe, to me, that’s even more inspiring than all the beautiful things she created. So in the end, even if you’re are not into the designs of Coco Chanel, this exhibition is a real must see. And if you do love her designs then […]

PLEATED

The perfect party is not complete without the perfect dress. That’s one of the reasons I always start the hunt for a perfect outfit as early as possible. Off course I also love the hunt it self, especially when you succeed, and you find that once piece you have been searching for. It can also be one hell of a stressful event I experienced so myself. After carefully sourcing the web and spitted trough all of my favorite stores I finally stumbled upon the perfect party dress for my 31th birthday. I ordered it 7 days before the date I actually needed it, well in time you would think. Well, think again. I ordered it on a Friday and received a message on Saturday it was already on it’s way, so far so good. I was literally jumping for joy when I received a text message on Tuesday that it would be delivered that day. Well that attempt failed cause the postman showed up at the fifthteen minutes no one was home that day. Agrrrrrrr, but he, a new attempt was planned for the next day so no worries. Well, more worries was yet to come when my parcel got […]

BRUSSELS

So last weekend it was time for our sort of annual  girls weekend spend in Brussels. And this time we decided to also pre-celebrate my 31st brirthday, as you can image we had loads of fun. After visiting Brussels a few times now I’m starting to know my way around the city a little bit, as far as the nightlife that is, because visiting musea is never on the menu with us girls. After we arrived late friday night we stayed in and enjoyed ourselfs with wine and comfort food. My girls surprised me with pink champagne and a lovely gift, the perfect weekend kick-off. After a late night/early morning we started our saturday at lunchtime, enjoying a delicious lunch at Lola. And after our french lunch we hit the streets for some shopping and visited some of the many chocolateries. At night we dined at one of Brussels most gorgeous restaurants Cospaia. After dinner we were surprised with champagne and fireworks in the coctailbar. We ended the night at club Spirito Martini, were we booked a VIP table to spend the rest of the night instyle. Here we were also provided with champagne and fireworks (bottle nr 4 in […]

MADE FOR WALKING

Our sunday in Paris was well spend, after a late breakfast we were of to explore an area we’ve never been to before, the Quartier Latin.  Based in the 5th and  6th arrondissement it is situated on the left bank of the Seine, therefore, in my oppinion it’s much more quiet and less crowded (read touristic) then the rest of Paris. Especially on a sunday this is were you can spot the real Parisians and blend in a little, or just try to. We visited the impressive Pantheon, walked around the beautiful Jardin des Plantes, had a late lunch at the Mosquée de Paris and walked around some more. Another perfect day in Paris. To end this perfect day we had dinner with our lovely Parisian family that always make me want to spend every weekend in Paris. But after all that walking a girl needs some steady heels to keep her on her feet. I was so happy I brought these booties with me for this trip. Not only do I think the are very cool and a bit more edgy the what I normally wear, they are also made for walking. High and comfortale, that’w what I want, just like Paris. […]

RUE DE PARIS

I’m a bit behind on my blog post lately but there’s just to much to share these days. Already 2 weeks ago I left for Paris, this time not for my pleasure only but mainly to support my boyfriend who was visiting the Maison & Objet just outsite Paris. So Friday afternoon we finally arrived in the city of love, after our favorite waste of time, strolling arround the city and hanging out a several cafe’s, our first day already came to an end.  The next day my boyfriend headed for the fair very early and left me all along in the city. My first time ever alone in Paris, so what was I gonna do?? Shop off course!! All day I pretended to be a parisienne by traveling on the metro alone, eating fresh baked croissants, shopping at Rue Saint Honoré and so on. Now I don’t have to tell you that I had the best of time and off course I scored some nice new stuff along the way. The only thing I don’t recommend is entering the Chanel Maquillage store alone and getting your make-up done by a Chanel proffessionel. I’m no pussy when it comes to […]

POSTCARDS

No denying it anymore, it’s fall and I’m not ready for it but I know I have to be. Rainy days and wearing socks again got me really back to earth. The only thing that’s makes me really happy these days are planning new holidays and weekendtrip, and off course planning my wardrobe for fall. For now I still get a lot of energy and inspiration from my Santorini pictures. I hope they give you as much pleasure as they do me, that they also bring you to Santorini for just a few minutes and remind you of your own summer holiday. And now it’s really time to plan my fall and winter wardrobe. I’m getting ready to plan it in a whole new way but more of that later to come! xo

LONG NIGHTS

My last outfit photo’s from Santorini, crazy how times flies when you’re having fun. Anyway, I always love to wear maxi dresses when I’m on a summer holiday. They are perfect for long summer nights because they are so easy to wear. Dressed up or dressed down, either way you look instant glamorous. This one was designed by Kate Moss for Topshop a few years back and has been my favorite maxi ever since. SUNSET

Ever since I bought this cute little white top I have been wanted to wear it but somehow it never felt right and the perfect occasion never accured. Somehow on vacation I always feel a bit more secure and less restricted then normal and so I finally dared to wear the cropped top. Off course I keep it classy by combining it with a pencil skirt and some classic slingbacks. I love how these opposites attract and at the same time strengthen one another. | Top H&M | Skirt ZARA | Slingbacks Dolce&Gabbana | Sunnies CHANEL | Jewelry all H&M | Ring YSL arty oval |

BLACK BEACH

Santorini beaches are world famous for the volcanic origin of the black sand beach of Perissa and Kamari so for our stay we choose an appartment near the beach of Perissa. Not only is this the place to be during the day, after the sun sets, the beachclubs turn into nightclubs and the restaurant have the most gorgeous views on the beach. It couldn’t get any more romantic and atmospferic then this. Even when your’e not a beach lover like me (I know it sound crazy but I hate the sand between my toes) you have to make a walk along these shores to experience these magical coastlines. So it only felt natural to wear this long black dress for the first time on this black beach. Black meets black, and off course a touch of turquoise as a hint of sea. Inspiration can come from anywere but nothing beats mother natures color combinations if you ask me.   | Dress ZARA | Heels ZARA | Necklaces Dyrberg/Kern | Bag & Sunnies CHANEL | Ring H&M | Bracelet Mango | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

JUMP

I’m a lucky girl, after spending a full week in Santorini (stay tuned for more beautiful pictures) I’m spending this weekend in my beloved Paris. Again I hear you think, yes again. This time me and my boy are visiting the Maison et Objet and off course do a little shopping and city exploring.  Any reason to visit Paris is a good one don’t you think. I guess that’s also part of why I love this jumpsuit so much, the Eiffel tower on it represents this city in a nutshell and always reminds me of all the good memories I have of it. It’s also very easy and comfortable to wear, summer or winter, what ever the occasion, it fits me like a glove. SANTORINI

When you follow me on Instagram you have probably noticed that I’ve spend the last week on Santorini in Greece. I have visisted other Greek islands in the past but none of them were as beautiful as Santorini. The people, the colors, the archicture, the atmospfere, it’s all so much more beautiful then words and pictures can deiscribe. Althoug Santorini is just a small island it holds everything I want for a summer holiday. The greek food is super fresh and tasty, the local wine tastes great, the people are super friendly and authentic. For the rest the weather, the sandy beaches, nice small hotels and restaurants, everything you want for a relaxed holiday you will find on Santorini.  I now I will go back here some day and I can highly recommond it to enyone who want to visit Greece.   | Top H&M | Short ZARA | Sandals TOPSHOP | Bag Santorinni souvenir | Sunnies ZARA | Earrings H&M | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

TIE THE KNOT

As I already told you, the only thing disappointing about our trip to France was the weather. Most of the stuff I brought with me stayed locked up in my suitcase and I was forced to be a little creative with what I had with me. Now that’s a challenge I like to take on anywhere, anytime, except when I’m in Paris. Well anyway, I didn’t had much choice. So ended up wearing almost the same outfit on our 2nd day, I only wore a different shirt, flats i/o heels and a scarf around my head to spice things up a little. Now as you will probably know I love to wear a scarf around my head but this time I tried a new way (for me at least). I saw this on another blog (don’t remember were but google; ways to tie a scarf around your head) After some struggle I finally got it and now I’m hooked. Finally I tied the knot in Paris. If you want to know how, here’s how I did it: Take a long small or rolled up scarf, each hand holds one end, keep the middle under your hair in your neck. Wrap […]

PARIS AT NIGHT

Paris at night is even more beautiful then during the day. Especially when the sun is coloring the sky pink and giving the city that special glow. The perfect time to hit the city for dinner and drinks. On our first and this time only night in Paris I decided to wear what I planned anyway. OK, I added a faux leather jacket for some extra warmth but I did bared my legs and wore sandals. PARIS TOKIO

Our first day in Paris was well spend. We arrived around noon and after parking our car we immediately hit the city. Our first stop was Avenue George V, a perfect street which I never been before. We had some coffee at nice Parisian/Italian restaurant before we headed over to the Palais du Tokio. This was the first time for us to visit this modern museum and this time we came specially for the Chanel No 5 exhibition. A must see if you’re into Chanel No 5 or Chanel in general like I am. It really tell the story about her life and how she inspired by all the people and things around her, really inspirational. After we left Palais du Tokio we went to check in in our hotel. This time I choose Hotel Jules for the night. A perfect situated and renovated boutique hotel that I can recommend to anyone who’s looking for a nice hotel in the center of Paris. After we checked in and dropped off our stuff at the hotel we hit the city and did what I love best. We just had nowhere to go and just got lost, we walked aroud the Louvre […]

WILD FLOWERS

Before our 2 day stay in Paris we also enjoyed some very relaxing days with our family in the country side of France. Everything was just perfect these days, the company, the food, the wine and just relaxing and doing nothing for a change was more then perfect. The only thing not so perfect was the weather. While we left Holland the predictions were pretty good, sadly it only got worse. So I was forced to wear jeans and a sweater the whole time instead of all the nice things I brought with me(not so bad, pretty comfortable but not for making blog pics) . During a spare moment of sun we did managed to shot this outfit, the clothes I was planning on wearing. The heels we just for the photo, as you can imagine, I only wore comfortable footwear, like my favorite slippers haha.
