HANNEKE VERSTEGEN X HIPDESIGN: TROUWKAARTEN

TO THE POINT

I have a weird sense of memory when it comes to all the clothing and accessories that I own. I almost exactly know when I bought it, what it cost me and the occasion I bought it for. For some reason this information is all somewhere stored in the back of my mind. Some items have a story that is just to good to forget. Like this sweater for instance that was not available in The Netherlands. I ordered it online and had it sent over to my French relatives who brought personally delivered it to me. Yes, in the pocket! And later on this denim shirt, found at a supermarket-discounter for almost next to nothing. Yes! Especially fun when you see someone’s face when they ask me where I got that cute shirt.   | Sweater MAJE | Shirt ALDI | Jeans ASOS | Heels ZARA | Bag CHLOE |

SNAPSHOT

Just last week I was looking for a pair of shoes to go with my outfit when I noticed something. I noticed that flat shoes were almost filling up half of my shoe closet. Something I could have not imagined a year or so ago. But he, when you have to make changes, you better do it right. A whole new world opened up to me, the world of sneakers and other comfortable shoes. While in Paris I scored my favorite pair so far, the Kenzo eye sneakers. So easy to combine with everything from jeans to a black dress and so comfortable to wear. They are the proof that some changes are for the better, only now I have to make sure flats don’t take over the rest of my closet haha. . | Cardigan COS | T-shirt VOGUE PARIS VFNO | Jeans ZARA | Sneakers KENZO | Accessories CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

LE PARISIEN

So last week I was back in my much beloved city; Paris. The kick start of a short holiday before our baby girl arrives, these days also know as a babymoon haha (love that term) . Off course I had planned a short shopping spree but due to our late arrival (traffic jams) and an early meeting with friends I was forced to keep it even shorter. In preparation of my new life I was looking for a new pair of sneakers, I had my eye on 2 pairs after our last visit to Paris back in June, a pair form the Nike Style Lab and a pair I saw at Kenzo. Well, you can guess which pair I got now. For the occasion I was wearing on of my favorite dresses of late, another striped number that I also found at Zara. Although again it’s not officially maternity wear it still fits me perfectly. Combined with a pair of flats and my favorite accessories it still makes me feel ladylike in a time when comfort is key. . | Dress ZARA | Flats BODEN | Bag CHANEL | Sunnies PRADA | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

BACK TO BLACK

And again I’m wearing a black dress in Paris. The first thing that I always pack, no matter what my travel destination is. Only by now I’m starting to feel like it’s all I’m wearing these days. Maybe I can better start a new blog that only futures black dresses because if I could I would wear one every day. I really love them but sometimes it makes me feel a little helpless. Like I can’t come up with anything else to wear, even when I have plenty of other stuff. But  it’s just the one garment I feel most comfortable in these days. So now my next mission is to find a look that makes me feel just a comfortable as this one does because I don’t want to wear the same look over and over again till the end of October. Time to do some serious shopping, and no black dresses aloud. . | Dress COS | Flats DOLCE&GABBANA | Bag, Sunnies & Scarf All CHANEL  | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

WHEN IN PARIS

When I’m in Paris I always feel like dressing up, maybe because dressing up here doesn’t feel so dressed up as it does back home. It feels natural because almost all of the men and women here look good.  Even now, 25 weeks into my pregnancy I still feel like dressing up every once in a while. And why shouldn’t I, I’m still the same woman I always was. I was never the one to show a lot of skin, but a  little black dress combined with heels was, and will always be, one of my favorite combinations to wear when I go out. Even a backless dress is still an option if you ask me. After all, get dressed is still all about feeling good in your own skin and showing off the best of you . Gladly some things don’t change, same woman new curves is my motto these days. .  | Dress ZARA | Heels MIU MIU | Bracelet CHANEL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

VOGUE PARIS

I love a good Vogue t-shirt, after receiving the first one last summer from Dutch Vogue, I laid my eyes on the Fashion Night Out edition from Vogue Paris. The only problem was it was only available in France, included with the September issue. Lucky for me I already had a trip planned to Paris early September, so the first thing I scored on my shoppingspree was this t-shirt. To bad I had to leave Paris before the actual Fashion Night Out on September 17, sadly sometimes you can’t have it all. | Jacket ZARA | T-shirt Vogue Paris | Pants ZARA | Heels &OtherStories | Bag CHANEL | Necklace Pieces | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

MADE FOR WALKING

Our sunday in Paris was well spend, after a late breakfast we were of to explore an area we’ve never been to before, the Quartier Latin.  Based in the 5th and  6th arrondissement it is situated on the left bank of the Seine, therefore, in my oppinion it’s much more quiet and less crowded (read touristic) then the rest of Paris. Especially on a sunday this is were you can spot the real Parisians and blend in a little, or just try to. We visited the impressive Pantheon, walked around the beautiful Jardin des Plantes, had a late lunch at the Mosquée de Paris and walked around some more. Another perfect day in Paris. To end this perfect day we had dinner with our lovely Parisian family that always make me want to spend every weekend in Paris. But after all that walking a girl needs some steady heels to keep her on her feet. I was so happy I brought these booties with me for this trip. Not only do I think the are very cool and a bit more edgy the what I normally wear, they are also made for walking. High and comfortale, that’w what I want, just like Paris. […]

RUE DE PARIS

I’m a bit behind on my blog post lately but there’s just to much to share these days. Already 2 weeks ago I left for Paris, this time not for my pleasure only but mainly to support my boyfriend who was visiting the Maison & Objet just outsite Paris. So Friday afternoon we finally arrived in the city of love, after our favorite waste of time, strolling arround the city and hanging out a several cafe’s, our first day already came to an end.  The next day my boyfriend headed for the fair very early and left me all along in the city. My first time ever alone in Paris, so what was I gonna do?? Shop off course!! All day I pretended to be a parisienne by traveling on the metro alone, eating fresh baked croissants, shopping at Rue Saint Honoré and so on. Now I don’t have to tell you that I had the best of time and off course I scored some nice new stuff along the way. The only thing I don’t recommend is entering the Chanel Maquillage store alone and getting your make-up done by a Chanel proffessionel. I’m no pussy when it comes to […]

JUMP

I’m a lucky girl, after spending a full week in Santorini (stay tuned for more beautiful pictures) I’m spending this weekend in my beloved Paris. Again I hear you think, yes again. This time me and my boy are visiting the Maison et Objet and off course do a little shopping and city exploring.  Any reason to visit Paris is a good one don’t you think. I guess that’s also part of why I love this jumpsuit so much, the Eiffel tower on it represents this city in a nutshell and always reminds me of all the good memories I have of it. It’s also very easy and comfortable to wear, summer or winter, what ever the occasion, it fits me like a glove. Just like Paris.   | Jumpsuit ASOS | Heels Dolce&Gabbana | Clutch H&M | Sunnies H&M | Watch Marc by Marc Jacobs | Bracelet Speechless | Ring YSL | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

SHEER DETAIL

Off course I did some shopping in Paris, this time no designer wear but only two pieces from my highstreet favorite Zara, because you can’t buy that anywhere but in Paris right, haha. Anyway, the first score I brought back with me is this white  sweater with sheer panels at the shoulder. Seems like white sweaters are becoming a must have for me this summer because this isn’t the first one as you know (see here and here). I think I love them because they are so versatile and easy to wear. Weather it’s on an jeans or a skirt, it’s got that summer feeling.   | Sweater Zara | Jeans Only | Heels Topshop | Necklace Zara | Clutch from Market | Ring YSL, Asos | Watch Michael Kors | Sunnies Mango | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

TIE THE KNOT

As I already told you, the only thing disappointing about our trip to France was the weather. Most of the stuff I brought with me stayed locked up in my suitcase and I was forced to be a little creative with what I had with me. Now that’s a challenge I like to take on anywhere, anytime, except when I’m in Paris. Well anyway, I didn’t had much choice. So ended up wearing almost the same outfit on our 2nd day, I only wore a different shirt, flats i/o heels and a scarf around my head to spice things up a little. Now as you will probably know I love to wear a scarf around my head but this time I tried a new way (for me at least). I saw this on another blog (don’t remember were but google; ways to tie a scarf around your head) After some struggle I finally got it and now I’m hooked. Finally I tied the knot in Paris. If you want to know how, here’s how I did it: Take a long small or rolled up scarf, each hand holds one end, keep the middle under your hair in your neck. Wrap […]

PARIS AT NIGHT

Paris at night is even more beautiful then during the day. Especially when the sun is coloring the sky pink and giving the city that special glow. The perfect time to hit the city for dinner and drinks. On our first and this time only night in Paris I decided to wear what I planned anyway. OK, I added a faux leather jacket for some extra warmth but I did bared my legs and wore sandals. Black, a Breton stripe and some Chanel, the perfect Parisian combination.   | Jacket Zara | Skirt Mango | Sweater H&M | Heels Zara | Bag Chanel | Bracelet Mango | Rings Piedras Amsterdam and Dyrberg/Kern | . | Follow me on FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | PINTEREST | TUMBLR |

PARIS TOKIO

Our first day in Paris was well spend. We arrived around noon and after parking our car we immediately hit the city. Our first stop was Avenue George V, a perfect street which I never been before. We had some coffee at nice Parisian/Italian restaurant before we headed over to the Palais du Tokio. This was the first time for us to visit this modern museum and this time we came specially for the Chanel No 5 exhibition. A must see if you’re into Chanel No 5 or Chanel in general like I am. It really tell the story about her life and how she inspired by all the people and things around her, really inspirational. After we left Palais du Tokio we went to check in in our hotel. This time I choose Hotel Jules for the night. A perfect situated and renovated boutique hotel that I can recommend to anyone who’s looking for a nice hotel in the center of Paris. After we checked in and dropped off our stuff at the hotel we hit the city and did what I love best. We just had nowhere to go and just got lost, we walked aroud the Louvre […]
